La Corvée De Villy 2007 Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Rouge 16.5 Drink 2011-13 Rich, lively, oak liqueur - pretty flashy for the money! Though not for purists.
La Charmotte 2007 Nuits-St-Georges Rouge 17 Drink 2012-16 Heady and sweet and a little angular. Very very sweet. Lively and heady - still in cocktail mode rather than wine mode! So resonant. Exciting. For those who want a bit of a shock!
La Toppe au Vert Premier Cru 2007 Aloxe-Corton Rouge 17.5 Drink 2011-15 Lovely! Here the oak is overwhelmed by the purity of the fruit and real energy. Great balance. Aux Réas 2007 Vosne-Romanée 17 Drink 2012-17 Smoky and rather exotic nose, slightly fizzy but this is presumably the organic effect? Very nice dry finish with lots of layers of flavour - much more complex than most 07s.
Les St-Georges Premier Cru 2007 Nuits-St-Georges Rouge 18 Drink 2012-18 Deep and rich and very exotic and puts the simplicity of most 2007s into perspective, Long and dry on the finish. Very exciting. Thibault himself was disappointed with how this and the Clos Vougeot showed (too much oak) but then he knows how they should look. Great finish with flora and fauna all over the place.
Grand Cru 2007 Clos de Vougeot 18+ Drink 2012-18 Certainly the oak was a bit obvious in this sample and on the basis of three samples I'd choose Les St Georges over Clos Vougeot.
Les Renardes Grand Cru 2007 Corton Rouge 17.5 Drink 2012-17 Serious though not flashy. Very sweet with lots of pleasure. Rather rich, alcoholic finish.
Grand Cru 2007 Richebourg 18 Drink 2012-20 Sample a little tired on the nose but there is real quality and interest here! Such a pleasure to taste!! Not worth the money probably but awfully exciting and complex and great stuff!!
